After a massive protest against the imposition of Hindi, the word was removed from the Tamil Nadu station
A resolution against the “Hindi aggressiveness” of the national government was presented in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly a few days ago. The Southern Railway was charged with imposing Hindi in that situation. Common folks argue that the station’s use of Hindi terms is misleading. There was a movement that demanded that Hindi terms be taken out of the station. The word “Hindi” was ultimately removed from the station’s signboard after significant pressure.
